Former member of Scientific Advisory Board of INNOTECH, a technology lens manufacturing company formerly based in Roanoke, VA. The Excalibur system is capable of surface casting spectacle lenses in 20 minutes. The company was purchased by Johnson & Johnson in 1998.

Clinical investigator of the Sensar IOL (AR40NB), a foldable acrylic lens from Allergan Medical Optics.

Former scientific advisor to several ophthalmic companies investigating new drugs and devices for ophthalmology including Oculex, iScience, and BiosyntRx.

Dr. Arnold has presented his work, by invitation, to the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, the Outpatient Ophthalmic Surgery Society, the Society for Excellence in Eyecare, the American College of Surgeons, and other national and international organizations.
